Our Story
Stak ehf. was founded in 1997 and at the outset the company was primarily engaged in software development. The first large project – software for horse breeders – was completed for Bændasamtök Íslands (The Icelandic Farmers’ Association) and was widely used for several years. Next, Stak developed an online solution for time registration and invoicing designed for small and medium-sized firms. Timecatcher, which is regularly updated, has been used by a diverse and loyal group of clients for over ten years.
In more recent years Stak’s activities in media production have grown resulting in the establishment of the StakMedia division. StakMedia has successfully executed commissioned media projects for clients as well as completing a number of artistic projects.
